The 600-acre community adjacent to Texas A&M University-San Antonio celebrates a broad array of talented creators that elevate life in Military City USA. Bernal Cove Celebrates Decorated Pastry Chef Lilla Bernal

Lilla Bernal is a chef and Associate Professor of Baking and Pastry Arts at the Culinary Institute of America. Her artistry has taken her to several positions across Central America, Mexico, and Texas. She was previously selected by the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office as a chef ambassador to represent San Antonio as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Ledet Green Recognizes Multifaceted Artist Julie Ledet

Julie Ledet is an artist and printmaker whose work focuses on the people and culture of Southern Louisiana, where she grew up. Ledet obtained her MFA at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she also worked as an adjunct instructor. She then served in various roles at Parchman Stremmel Galleries, the Witte Museum, and the McNay Art Museum. Currently, she’s a lecturer at Trinity University and Director of Development for KRTU, Trinity’s radio station. Learn more about Ledet and see her work on her website.
Saleh Corner Named for Artists and Metalworkers Simon and Autumn Saleh
Saleh Corner is named for Simon and Autumn Saleh, a married couple who run Wanderlust Ironworks. They create sculptures and original paintings for both public display and private collections, and they build custom furniture in their studio using high-quality woods, glass, exotic metals and custom patina finishes, They also take public art commissions for artists across the country. Siebern Road Named After Pastry Chef Brett Siebern
Brett Siebern is a pastry chef who grew up in Bandera and got his start working at an H-E-B bakery in San Antonio. He was featured on Food Network’s Winner Cake All, where he and his mentor Kevin Moulder won the first episode by crafting a 3-foot-tall mermaid cake. Siebern went on to start his own home bakery called Cake Boy, where he creates elaborate custom cakes for his customers. View Siebern’s work on the Cake Boy Instagram page.
Soupe Cove Celebrates Street Artist and Muralist Nick Soupè
Nick Soupè is a San Antonio-based street artist and muralist that’s known for black-and-white photo realistic portraits done with spray paint. South side residents may especially recognize his Tim Duncan mural painted on the side of Franky Diablo’s on Roosevelt. The self-taught artist is also one-half of a “mural duo” called Los Otros.
