In 2023, we welcomed over 170 homeowners to VIDA. This year, we’re looking forward to continuing to build on the momentum and extend a warm welcome to even more neighbors as the community grows.
2024 promises to be a monumental year for VIDA, with plans for additional parks, new events, public amenities, community resources and more.
Development and Site Work
Work is continuing on three different Phase 2 parks, adding more trails and play spaces across the community. Park landscaping will be installed this spring. Watch for announcements on the names of these new parks, as suggested by VIDA homeowners and the community.
Phase 3 is under construction, preparing to provide more homes and greenspaces for new VIDA residents.
Sitterle Homes will begin constructing townhomes along University Way in the coming months. Watch for information on the new Sitterle sales office, to be located on Mitra Way.
Phase 3 homesites are under development, aiming for completion in Spring 2024. Phase 4 homesites are in the engineering stage, and will be the first sites located to the east of University Way.
Art at VIDA
VIDA’s Arts Council will soon announce the artist selected to create the community’s first outdoor sculpture, which will be designed to capture the vibrant spirit of VIDA and southside San Antonio. The sculpture will be placed on Mitra Way to welcome residents into the community and honor the creativity and uniqueness that defines our neighborhood.

University Health VIDA Breaks Ground
As an integrated health system, University Health prioritizes community wellbeing through preventive care, treatment, and access to a variety of healthcare services. Announced in 2022, the Public Health Division harnesses the organization’s strengths in effective communication, a skilled healthcare workforce, community partnerships, and advanced technology infrastructure to enhance population health and equity in Bexar County.
Strategically located next to Texas A&M University-San Antonio and VIDA San Antonio, University Health will function as the central hub for administrative, research, and clinical services.
Thanks to all who attended the groundbreaking for the University Health VIDA health clinic on Jaguar Parkway. The 60,000-square-foot health hub serving San Antonio’s southside signals the start of a transformative project that will redefine access to healthcare in the community and greater South Texas region.
This month University Health will break ground on the University Health Palo Alto hospital at VIDA. Palo Alto hospital will offer a 24/7 emergency room, labor and delivery unit, pharmacy, neonatal intensive care, and so much more.
Texas A&M University – San Antonio
Texas A&M University – San Antonio enrollment grew by 4% in 2023, significantly greater than the national average. The University’s commitment to new undergraduate and graduate programs and new athletic and academic facilities continues to attract students from across the region. Planned for 2024: completion of a second student dorm facility and the Student Athletic Center. Bexar County also approved a $10M grant to add new sports venues on campus, which will be accessible to the public.
