Community Update: November 2024

The University Health campus at VIDA continues to take shape! Construction is progressing on the Palo Alto Hospital and the VIDA Clinic/Bexar County Institute for Public Health, with the clinic set to open in 2025 and the 167-bed hospital in 2027.

Phase 5 Planning Underway

Phase 5 planning is now underway! As the largest of VIDA’s 7 phases, this north eastern corner of VIDA will add roughly 500 homes, the second mile of the Madla Greenway, neighborhood parks and more. Watch for updates as construction is expected to be underway mid-2025.

Veterans Day Celebration

VIDA proudly honored Veterans Day and the Month of the Military Family with a community-wide tribute. The community’s Social Committee placed over 300 American flags throughout the neighborhood to recognize and celebrate those who serve our country.

Lights of Esperanza

Join us for a favorite holiday tradition – the 9th annual Lights of Esperanza at Texas A&M-San Antonio, where over 30,000 lights illuminate the campus! The VIDA Square will feature a sledding hill, snowball fights, a DJ, a holiday market and games. This family-friendly event has many free events, entertainment and an amazing lights show. Shop at the local makers market, savor delicious offerings from food vendors, and enjoy activities for all ages.

A&M-San Antonio’s First Basketball Game

A&M-San Antonio celebrated a significant milestone with its inaugural men’s and women’s basketball games on October 28. VIDA residents joined the excitement and look forward to cheering on the teams throughout the season. To view their season schedule, visit the A&M-San Antonio athletics website.

  • Awarded Best New Community by MySA

The vibrant VIDA community has hosted dozens of gatherings and activities this year, including Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Picnic, Halloween Decoration Contest, Monthly Gatherings, and more. Looking forward to adding even more homeowner events in 2025!
